I wrote out my part in a real AI session as sheet music
No, really. This is one of my actual working sessions: me and 50 agents. I had my part turned into concert percussion sheet music.
A long time ago I was a percussionist. Concert percussion is mostly resting, then coming in at the right moment. Working with agents feels the same. Ethan Mollick calls it a twilight factory: the agents carry the long stretches on their own, and I come in where my judgment matters.
Every note is a moment I guided the work. The rests are the agents working without me. I come in heavy at the start, when we set the direction, and again near the end. In between, the agents mostly play on their own. Where each note sits on the staff shows what I brought: values, expertise, taste, or the calls I make. The accents show how much it shaped the result.
